Keith was born in  Wellington, Shropshire. He joined the Civil Service in 1958 and worked for the Department of Health and Social Security. In 1990 he joined the Benefits Agency and was Area Director for Merseyside prior to moving to the Voluntary Sector in  1996.

He joined Christian Alliance Housing Association in 1996 and was Chair of the Board of Trustees from 1998 to 2009. He is Chair of Community Care North Bucks , a charity that runs a Hospital Car Service, Adult and Young Carers groups and is the umbrella charity for the Buckingham Youth Centre. He is also a Trustee of Project Street Life, a charity that is involved in outreach to young people through running an alcohol free club which includes providing advice and support.

He lives with his wife Gill in Buckingham and worships at Buckingham Parish Church. He is an Authorised Lay preacher and is involved in running Alpha Courses. He has two daughters and four grandchildren and loves family times.  He also enjoys football - supports AFC Telford and Sunderland - and tries to be good at golf but has so far failed !!
